Welcome to KinderCollege!
Here at KinderCollege we delight in taking care of young children and helping them to fully develop and learn new things. Our center’s mission is to provide a safe and happy environment that focuses on the child’s total development through play and active learning. Likewise, our vision is to create happy, self-motivated, life-long learners who are fully prepared for kindergarten and beyond.
We know how hard it can be to be dependent on child care outside your own care. We feel with all the stressors in the world today, you do not need additional worry about the health, safety, and well-being of your child while he/she is in our care. We document your child’s progress in all areas of his/her development. Families are encouraged during the day, to check on their child through text or a phone call.
KinderCollege is a State-Licensed Child Care Facility in Ashland, Kentucky that is All Star Rated with a three-star ꙳꙳꙳ rating. We have four classrooms serving children six weeks to four years of age.
• Infants: six weeks to 12 months
• One-Year Old: 12 months to 24 months
• Two-Year Olds: 24 months to 36 months or two- to three-year olds
• Preschool: three and four-year olds
Children must be toilet trained for this classroom. Facilities are not available for diaper changing. Four-year olds who turn five after September may continue to be enrolled in the program, if it is meeting their needs. We do not take children who have already turned five.
We now have all our classrooms open and are operating at full capacity. We often stay full but it is always good to check. In the case we are full in one age group, you may put your child on the waiting list for that group. We do use our waiting lists and only select children from the waiting list when filling vacancies. At times our waiting lists are so long, we stop adding to the list. Class sizes are based on ratios of children to adults per age group that we must adhere to per regulations.
• Infants: five children to one adult
• Ones: six children to one adult
• Twos: ten children to one adult
• Preschool: 12 children to one adult
KinderCollege is affiliated with Boyd County Public Schools (BCPS) and Ashland Community and Technical College (ACTC). Located across the street from the ACTC College Drive campus, KC has been at this location, off Thirteenth St. in Ashland, for eight years but has been in existence for well over 20 years.
Our operating hours are from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Monday thru Friday. The daily rate is $25.00 per day or $125.00 a week. There is no cost difference for the differing age groups. We only take full-time students; if your child misses a day or two a week, you are expected to pay the weekly amount. The only exceptions are when a discount is given to teachers of BCPS or ACTC or ACTC students or when the center is closed. Staff members of either organization plus ACTC students, receive a $5.00 discount off our daily rate of $25.00. A child does not have to come every day to keep his/her place open but the family will be charged for the whole week.
